On GeoCities PRO, the hosting plan, if i cancel the plan do i also cancel my free domain name?

When you first sign up for GeoCities PRO, you get to pick a free domain name. Now, what I'm asking is, after the 6 month 50% off discount is used up and I switch to the plan that is NORMALLY 5 bucks a month, does the domain name I chose still stay active or do I need the pro plan to keep it?

1. The domain name is a part of the plan, so if you cancel the plan it makes sense that the 'free' domain name (which is actually paid for with a combination of your monthly geocities pro dues and advertising revenue) would also be canceled.
2. Yes, you can expect to lose the domain name, and you can also expect to lose the contents of your site. GeoCities doesn't support a downgrade option. As long as you still have all the files saved, as a backup, on your hard drive (or a CD-ROM, flash drive, etc.), then you will be able to upload them again when you sign up for a new hosting account (such as a free GeoCities site) and get your new address.
