Web Hosting Cheap Hosting

How cheap can web hosting be a month and how expensive can it get?

  1. I have seen some places offer shared hosting for 1.99 a month but a company that low can prove to be bad with up-time when it comes to a site. Dedicated hosting can go to $700.00 a month or more and of course is for serious business only. If you are looking for a hosting company I highly recommend http://www.ace-host.net
  2. Just what the other guy says. I've been involved with hosting for probably five years now, and I've seen it go from free to in the hundreds. It's limitless. I recommend http://asmallorange.com - you won't get as much as other companies, but you'll get UNBELIEVABLE customer service and great support. I also recommend http://surpasshosting.com , both great hosts with a lot to offer for cheap. Hope this helps you out!
  3. Free to infinite dollars! Free if you have your own webserver or a friend with one. Infinite dollars if your friend hates you. I haven't seen commercial vendors less than $5 a month, but I haven't looked that hard. One thing to keep in mind is if the vendor offers what you wants (connection method, OS, bandwidth, storage space, etc). Some include email or email forwarding. The list goes on!
  4. It can be as cheap as $3.96 a month http://www.webhostingpad.com/ or as expensive as couple of thousands per month for a dedicated hosting
  5. You can still host your own site for free by partitioning your hardrive and making that partition a server.then loading a server program like microsoft Internet Information Server program onto that partition.Windows 98 used to have that feature built in so you could host your own pages. But then you dont get much traffic eather.Try taking an older computer and loading windows 98 onto it and find the internet hosting features in accessories. Its kinda fun setting up your own server.
  6. I think this question has been well answered by the others in the forum so I will just chime in by saying that hosting is a commodities business and is available for an entire range of needs. 7. Hosting ranges, from $0 - anything you can think of! There are different types of hosting. Shared, VPS, Dedicated, Colocation, reseller, and the list goes on and on. If you want free hosting, you can try www.omgfreehost.com. If you want more reliable paid hosting, you can try www.serverplace.net. It really depends on what you want to do with your website. If you are just starting out online, and want to learn the ropes, I would suggest a free site. If you are a more experienced user, go for a reliable paid hosting company such as serverplace.net, or hostgator.com.
  8. you can get cheap web hosting for as little as $2 but it will be skimpy on features, support and disk space As a web designer I strongly prefer hosts that use cpanel. I don't host websites but I often refer clients to inexpensive hosts that make my job easier. On my website is a list of those hosting companies. Check them out. http://www.samwilson3d.com

  12. You have received several valuable answers here. Yes, the range is anywhere from free to thousands for dedicated hosting. If you have a desire to select a web host that is the best match for your needs, I would recommend that you take a look at things in a different approach. The process I used for selecting the best match for my needs was to first compare feature-by-feature then dollar-for-dollar. If you use this process and keep your needs in mind, you will narrow your options to hosts that offer the services that you need. After narrowing the options, you can then compare the prices to get the most out of your money. This process will ensure the best match for your needs and get you the most value for your money. BEST WISHES!
